Young Professionals 2026-2027 Call for Entries!

 We will start taking Young Professional nominations on August 1st.

CPG is accepting nominations from CPG Member Companies for the 
2026-2027 Young Professionals (YP) session.  
Deadline for nominations is August 27, 2026.

All nominees must work for a CPG Member Company.  If you have a candidate you would like to nominate, and your company is not a member, please join us!

YP Mission Statement

To develop the future leaders in our concrete community by offering interesting learning opportunities while networking and serving our community. 

YP’s are respected future leaders in your company (age 21 to 40-ish) with a strong future in our industry. 

• Variety of roles – cement sales, ready mix, contractors, engineers, affiliates, etc.
• Gain exposure from others in our industry and end up with long-term professional relationships.
• Field trips, technical events, fun team building activities, and concrete construction education.
• Professional development.
• Assist in managing the CPG Holiday/Awards Party the Concrete Technology Course and the Sporting Clay fundraiser.
• Bosses/Managers invited to the final “graduation” session – includes a fun event and networking.

The YP’s will meet once or twice a month between September and April.  Registrations are on a first-come, first-serve basis, and class size is limited to 15-18 participants.  Initially, we will take one application per member company.  If the class size allows, a second applicant may be considered.

The one-time application fee per candidate for the 8-month program is $1000. We provide beverages, food, and materials when appropriate.  

Main Objectives

• Growth – both personally and professionally 
• Networking – with piers & leaders in the concrete & construction community
• Professional Development – leadership skills, time management, etc. 
• Community – roll up your sleeves and help
• Future – potential leaders as CPG Committee Members or Directors on the Board

YP’s are expected to participate in all scheduled activities.  Before nominating a candidate, please review the 2026-2027 schedule (see below) and make sure they can commit to attend and participate fully.

September 10, 2026, 4 - 7 pm
Meet & Greet with alumni from previous years, food and drink provided.    

September 17, 2026, 9:00 am  – 2pm
Sporting Clays Event, help host and run the event.

October 8, 2026, 4 - 6 pm
Learn about the role of CPG as a professional trade association, Business Development session on “Business Etiquette”

November 4, 2026, 7 am to 4 pm (only optional event)
CPG & MO/KS ACPA co-sponsored Concrete Paving, Parking Lot and Flatwork Seminar.

November 11, 2026, 3 pm to 9:15 pm
Participate in the CPG Holiday Party & Awards Banquet (Help set up and tear down the event, and more. Networking opportunity.)

December 10, 4 - 6 pm (Promptly at 4 pm)
Teamwork and Networking Event

January 5, 6, & 7, 2027, 7 am to 5 pm
Annual Concrete Technology Course, as a participant engaged in learning as well as a helper setting up, food distribution and more.  

January 21, 2027, 4 - 6 pm (Promptly at 4 pm)
Business Development/Mentorship meeting.  

Feb 8, 2027, 12 – 4 pm
CPG TopGolf Event, Full CPG member participation. Great networking opportunity.

Feb 18, 2027, 4-6 pm
Business Development/Leadership meeting.  

March 11, 2027, 11 am to 1:30 pm
Mine or Ready Mix Plant Tour, lunch included
