Construction Intern 2026
The Construction Intern (2026) role is a hands-on, paid internship designed to develop future construction leaders at Steller Concrete. This position provides real-world exposure to concrete construction operations, project management, safety, and leadership across both jobsite and office environments.
Interns will rotate between field and office assignments, working closely with Superintendents, Foremen, Project Managers, and Safety leadership. The goal is to prepare high-potential individuals for future roles such as Construction Manager, Superintendent, Project Engineer, or skilled trade leadership within Steller Concrete.
Program Objectives
- By the end of the 12-week internship, the Internship Construction Manager will:
- Understand concrete construction from pre-pour planning through project closeout
- Demonstrate strong jobsite safety awareness and OSHA fundamentals
- Assist with daily field operations and project support tasks
- Develop communication and leadership skills in a construction environment
- Identify a long-term career path within Steller Concrete
Key Responsibilities:
Field Operations (Approx. 40%)
- Shadow Superintendents and Foremen on active jobsites
- Assist with formwork, rebar prep, pours, finishing support, and cleanup (as approved)
- Support daily jobsite setup, material staging, and logistics
- Observe and assist with concrete placement and finishing activities
- Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and toolbox talks
- Identify and report safety hazards
- Support quality control inspections and punch list activities
Office & Project Support (Approx. 40%)
- Assist Project Managers with daily reports, documentation, and scheduling
- Review plans, specs, and takeoffs with estimating and project teams
- Support material tracking, delivery coordination, and job cost awareness
- Assist with project documentation and closeout activities
Training & Development (Approx. 20%)
- Participate in safety training, OSHA basics, and company orientation
- Attend weekly check-ins and mentorship meetings
- Complete a final capstone project (safety, efficiency, or operations improvement)

Qualifications
Required:
- 18 years old
- High school senior, trade school student, or early college student
- Interest in construction, concrete operations, or construction management
- Reliable transportation to jobsites and office
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
Preferred:
- Previous construction, labor, or trade exposure
- Enrollment in construction management, engineering, or skilled trades program
- Basic understanding of tools and jobsite safety
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work on active construction jobsites
- Must wear required PPE at all times
Interns will be evaluated on:

- Professionalism and attitude
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Communication and teamwork
- Formal evaluations will occur at the midpoint and end of the internship.
